Welcome to Finish It Friday and Day 15 of the Thirty Days of Gratitude.

Continuing this week’s theme of Thanksgiving preparations, today I am grateful for – and also hopefully finishing – our dining room:

I know you’re thinking, “What the wha?!?!? She’s messing with her dining room again??”

Well, in short, yes.

But for good reason. For one, I got a new rug, which I’m going to tell you all about next week (suspense!). Second, the chair covers I was using did not hold up well at all.

They weren’t really my style, but more importantly, they didn’t hold up to washing very well. So, now I’m thinking about just reupholstering the chairs with a solid and durable fabric. Today, I’m off to the fabric store to see my choices.

I am grateful to have a dining room to host family and friends for Thanksgiving.

The other project for Finish It Friday today is getting a new washing machine.

I am not happy about this one. Our four-and-a-half year old Whirlpool Duet washer needs repairs that cost more than it’s worth.

So, I’m off today to get a new washer. Thanks to everyone on Facebook for their recommendations!

I’m grateful that we have the resources to buy a new washer.

I’m thankful for this gorgeous, sunny day. It was energizing and I got a lot done. We’re redoing all our cabinets and I’m so excited because I found a finishing kit that should make the painting part of the redo a lot easier! We’ll just have to agree on colors. He’s leaning to a grayish white with a gray wash, and I want a creamy white with a brown wash. We’re doing bath and kitchen, so maybe we can each have a room 🙂 We’ll see.

I would be asking, “What the whaaaaat?” regarding re-doing your dining room but for the fact that you gave me another reason to “What the whaaaat?” you. When I read that your w+d were not quite 5 years old and causing problems – – well that’s a whole new category of, “What the whaaaat?”

I feel your pain; owner of a new LG w+d. I went back to my a top loader w. Can’t wait to see what you select. Just think, now we can really talk about our dirty laundry!

  Hee, hee! I’m really upset about the washer. That said, Lowe’s was awesome and they helped us out on getting a new one.
