I have a confession to make. I’m not a fan of Halloween decorations. (WHAT?!?)
Well, not scary ones anyway. I like decorating for fall instead. So, I decided instead to take some craft pumpkins I got at Michaels (but you can get them at any craft store) and decorate them all fancy-like and not scary at all.
Here are five ways to decorate craft store pumpkins for Halloween!
(1) Stick It to the Pumpkin.
On the small white pumpkin, I used decals from Leen the Graphics Queen in gold to make a festive pumpkin. I glued a burlap leaf to the stem with hot glue.
I used the same decals on the small orange pumpkin in my living room dough bowl:

(2) Tie One On.
Decorate a pumpkin with ribbon! You can either glue the ribbon to the pumpkin with hot glue (what I did to the white pumpkin with the green and orange ribbon, above) or just tie it around the pumpkin (what I did with the orange pumpkin in the top picture with the burlap ribbon and black and white twine). Super easy but big color and impact.
(3) Paint the Pumpkin.

Using painters’ tape, I taped off a design on these pumpkins and painted them. The tutorial for creating these easy painted pumpkins is here.
(4) Duct Tape!
Add it to the list of what you can do with duct tape!
I found this cute monster Duck Tape at Michaels or you can buy it here using my affiliate link. I just cut pieces and wrapped them around the sides of the pumpkin. I covered the seams of the plastic pumpkin with the tape – cute and functional!
(5) Add Leaves.
Decoupage faux autumn-colored leaves on a craft store pumpkin, like Jess at Mom4Real did;
Too cute!

Have you started decorating for fall? Do you like scary decorations for Halloween or more fall-like ones?
