I’m sorry there was no Friday Five this week. I tried…but there was Just. So. Much. Noise.
Jackhammering in the basement for the waterproofing system.
Nail guns and saws for the floor repair and installation in the family room.
You think everything is ok and you are handling it well, and then…
The other night, I had a dream that started like one of my usual anxiety dreams – where I have to get somewhere and I can’t find what I need.
In this dream, I was trying to get the kids to school and I couldn’t find their clothes. I couldn’t find their books. I couldn’t find anything.
Plus, all of our furniture was piled up in the middle of every room.
You know, because our family room is currently piled up in our breakfast room.

Funny how that works.
Anyway, back to my dream: while all of this is going on and I can’t find anything in the house and everything is all piled up, I hear a jackhammer. I look outside and someone is stealing the bricks from the exterior of our home. Brick by brick.

Then I woke up.
I think I’m ready for all this repair work to be finished.
Fingers crossed: it should be finished by Wednesday. It was going to be Tuesday, until the floor guys left open the plastic sheeting that blocked off the family room, and a certain Elvis Parsley Dog walked on the wet poly.

Have you ever had crazy dreams during home reno, like that your house is being stolen brick by brick? If so, please share in the comments. I’d love to know that I’m not alone, control freak that I am.
